A note from Fr. Brian

Posted on February 20, 2017 in: General News

Lent begins a week from Wednesday! Please begin now to think about what you're going to do extra or give up this Lent. The mass times for Ash Wednesday are; 5:30 pm in Madison followed by a tuna casserole free will supper, 5:30 in Ortonville followed by a soup supper, and 7:00 pm mass in Rosen. There will not be RE classes on Ash Wednesday. In lieu of class all students are expected to attend mass.

We are still in need of wood ashes for the Lent environment. If you have any clean ash, please bring it to church with you. Thank you.

The first weekend and week of Lent, Brent Heiser from Raleigh, North Carolina will be here to lead us through some Lenten reflections. Please plan now to join us for Brent's presentations. You'll be glad you did!

Thank you for the donations you have given recently for the poor of our area. The baby clothes and supplies that you recently gave are tremendous and much needed. On behalf of the baby, his mother offers her words of thanks.

Please submit your choice for the new name for our AFC by this Monday at noon. We will send in the top three choices and Bishop LeVoir will choose our new name for us. Please pray for our entire AFC during this time of transition. We will be the largest AFC in our diocese geographically and will have between 1,700 and 1,800 parishioners in our AFC. With God, all things are possible.

For couples who are pregnant we encourage you to please call and set up an appointment for your Baptism class before the children are born. The class takes about 30 minutes and then you will be given a DVD to take home and watch. Please call soon, thank you.

If you would like to have a special intention for a mass please let us know well in advance so we can ensure that mass for you. We are usually booked about one or two months ahead so please do not wait to submit your intention.

Have a good week and God bless you!
Father Brian
