Grief can happen in response to loss of life, as well as to drastic changes to ways of life that usually bring us comfort and a feeling of stability. In this presentation, we will explore key factors in grief, various types of losses, and resiliency. Participants will learn the stages of grief, healthy coping strategies, and ideas for helping others in grief.
Presenter information
Tami Behnke MS, LPCC, is a counselor at Catholic Charities of the Diocese of New Ulm. She has over 15 years of experience as a counselor, and has been counseling with Catholic Charities since its inception in 2007. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). In her practice, she provides counseling to couples, families, and individuals. Tami’s experience includes the treatment of depression, anxiety, grief, loss, trauma, abuse, domestic violence, stress management, career assessment, work life integration, and other conditions. In addition to her clinical work, she is an adjunct instructor in the Counseling and Education Department at South Dakota State University, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate counseling students.
